At the age of 32, Erik Karlsson has returned to his Norris-like ways this season, as he leads the Sharks with 43 assists and 56 points in 43 games.
However, San Jose currently sits in 28th place in the NHL standings and will be big time sellers at the Trade Deadline. Karlsson will be heavily sought after by teams around the league, but the asking price might scare them away.
According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the Sharks asking price is very high:
''Earlier this week, it was reported the #sjsharksask for Erik Karlsson is three first-round picks and Sharks will retain 18% of his contract.''
Karlsson still is young enough to have a few good years out of the four he has left at a $11.5 million cap hit. Which will be less as San Jose will retain 18 percent.
Will any team be willing to pay the price?
