Earlier today, the NHL and the NHLPA announced the latest player to have entered the NHL's Player Assistance Program.

In agreement with the Nashville Predators, it was revealed that forward Michael McCarron has volunteered to join. As per NHL Public Relations:

''The National Hockey League Players' Association and National Hockey League announced today that forward Michael McCarron of the Nashville Predators will be unavailable to his Club for an indefinite period while he receives care from the player assistance program of the NHL and NHLPA.''

''Under the terms of the joint program, McCarron will continue to be paid while receiving treatment. He will return to the Club when cleared for on-ice competition by the program administrators.''

''McCarron's care will be administered pursuant to the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program.''

McCarron was originally selected 25th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. The 27-year-old signed a two-year deal as a UFA with the Predators last summer, and in 15 games this season has one goal and one assist.

Let's hope McCarron receives the treatment he needs and is back on the ice as soon as he's ready!
