Bruins forward Nick Foligno joined NHL legend, Brett Hull, last season, being the only two in league history that managed to accomplish one specific feat.
Let's be honest; for a player to suit up in 1000 NHL games is a rare enough accomplishment, but when that player follows a family member in doing so, it makes it that much more remarkable.
That's the case with both Foligno and Hull.
Foligno suited up for the 1000th regular season game of his career on March 15th last season. His father, Mike Foligno, did the same back in 1993-94 when he played in his 1000th game while he was the Florida Panthers.
As for Hull, he played in a grand total of 1269 regular season games in the NHL, while his father, Bobby, finished his Hall of Fame career with 1063 games played.
Just how rare is that accomplishment for a father-son duo?
Well, the Folignos are just the second father-son combination in the NHL's 105-year history to have each played in 1000 career games.
