The funeral for Oilers' superfan Ben Stelter was held today in Edmonton, after the six-year-old sadly passed away on August 9th after a long, hard battle with brain cancer.
Oilers fans gathered outside the arena holding signs honouring Ben as the procession drove by.
Ben's parents, Mike and Leah, shared stories of their son while wearing Ben's number 22 Oilers jerseys and holding his Micky Mouse stuffy he was always carrying with him.
Ben built the biggest relationship with Oilers superstar and captain Connor McDavid and rallied the team at the end of their season and deep playoff run, with his signature saying, ''Play La Bamba, Baby!''
McDavid was also in attendance wearing a number 22 Oilers jersey in honour of Ben, and maybe the best part of all was the 'B' on his jersey in place of the captain's 'C'.
