One of the most unlikely of rivalries unfolded 11 years ago today, as the Boston Bruins and Dallas Stars combined for an instant classic.
The Bruins wanted payback on agitator Steve Ott, who was running around in a game three years prior.
On February 3rd, 2011, the two teams combined for three fights in the first four seconds of the game.
The fights were Gregory Campbell vs Steve Ott, Shawn Thornton vs Krys Barch and Adam McQuaid vs Brian Sutherby.
Check it out:
Not only that, but Milan Lucic opened the scoring 35 seconds, and Patrice Bergeron followed with the 2-0 goal just 45 seconds later.
Former Bruin Andrew Raycroft was pulled by the Stars' head coach 1:20 into the game.
It also can't go unnoticed that this was prime Jack Edwards with to call. Looking back it's obvious how much he's changed (for the worse), over the years.
