Any hockey fan knows that NHL players will play through almost anything when it comes to the Stanley Cup, and Patrice Bergeron did that and more during the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals.

The Bruins captain recently sat down with Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman to discuss several topics about his legendary career. One question that came up was about the several injuries Bergeron had sustained during that year's final against the Chicago Blackhawks.

In addition to a broken rib, torn rib cartilage and separated shoulder, Bergeron also suffered a pinhole puncture in his lung.

That's enough to keep people down and out for weeks to months, but not Bergeron. Friedman asked if there was ever any question about whether he would play, to which Bergeron responded:

''No, there was never a question ... You battle so hard for 82 games and two and half months of absolute grind just to get there. I have to be out there.''
