Some potential significant news regarding Boston Bruins' forward Brad Marchand was announced this morning by general manager Don Sweeney during his press conference.
It was reported first by multiple sources that follow the Bruins, including Matt Porter (@mattyports) of the Boston Globe and Conor Ryan (@ConorRyan_93) of the Boston Sports Journal:
Marchand will be going through follow-up procedures and appointments to gauge the significance of the hip injury, where surgery may need to be required. As reported by Ty Anderson (@TyAnderson) of 98.5 the Sports Hub, the organization seemed surprised about the injury and were pretty hush-hush on the severity of it:
Of course, everyone is still exploring all their options to make sure how major it really is, but the way Don Sweeney and the Bruins organization don't want to comment is a little frightening. The team may already be without Patrice Bergeron, and losing Marchand for a significant time would be devastating.
Nothing is set in stone yet as they're all just reports. Let's hope all is well with Brad Marchand's health!
