Prospect suffers gruesome injury attempting to block a shot (VIDEO)

Management loves players that are willing to risk their bodies to help their team win, but sometimes that risk is what puts those same players in very vulnerable positions.

Minnesota Wild prospect Marat Khusnutdinov showed a prime example of that during Gagarian Cup Playoffs in the KHL.

Late in the 2nd period between SKA and HC Dynamo Minsk, Khusnutdinov dove to poke the puck away off the faceoff loss. Unfortunately, Joseph Duszak was already committed to the shot as his stick catches Khusnutdinov square in the face. See below:

As Khusnutdinov was left bloodied on the ice, the SKA bench was incensed and the head coach appears to be accusing intent.

Khusnutdinov was selected 37th overall by the Wild at the 2020 Entry Draft.
