As per Sportico:
"BREAKING: The buyer nearing a deal to purchase the Nashville Predators is former Tennessee governor @BillHaslam, brother of Browns owner Jimmy Haslam. "
"We value the @PredsNHL at $680 million. Forbes says Bill Haslam is worth $2.3 billion."
Haslam served as the Republican governor of Tennessee from 2011 to 2019, and in 2015, he was considered the wealthiest elected official.
Forbes now estimates his net worth to be $2.3 billion.
Haslam serves as co-owner of a minor-league baseball team, the Tennessee Smokies, and his brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Susan Haslam, are owners of the NFL's Cleveland Browns.
The Predators are currently owned by Predators Holding LLC, a privately-owned company which purchased the franchise for $193 million in 2007.
