Saddened News Forces Zack Kassian Into Early Retirement
Zack Kassian, a veteran of the National Hockey League, has decided to call it a career after an impressive 12-year journey that saw him participate in 661 regular-season games and 45 playoff matchups.
Kassian's recent attempt to prolong his NHL career with a PTO contract from the Anaheim Ducks didn't yield the desired outcome, resulting in his release from the team.
During his tenure with the Edmonton Oilers spanning seven seasons from 2015 to 2022, Kassian amassed 55 goals, 135 points, 556 penalty minutes, and engaged in 26 fights over 412 games.
As he bids farewell to professional hockey, Kassian leaves behind a significant legacy. Reflecting on his journey, he expressed gratitude, saying,
"Playing in the NHL is an accomplishment in itself, but to sustain a 12-year career is truly remarkable. The relationships I've built with coaches, equipment staff, and fellow players are treasures that will last a lifetime."
As Kassian embarks on the next phase of his life, his contributions to the sport and the lasting connections he formed are sure to be cherished and celebrated.
