Not many current players have more battle scars on their face than Patrice Bergeron, and the Bruins captain added another one Monday night in Edmonton.
With 4:30 remaining in the third period and Boston holding a 3-2 lead, Bergeron took an errant stick from Oilers forward Klim Kostin and was immediately in distress.
See below:
Bergeron quickly threw off his gloves and nervously clutched his face. Thankfully, he was patched up and no damage was done to his eyes.
Scary scene that could have been a lot worse!
The Bruins were also able to hold on for the 3-2 win and improved to 46-8-5 on the season.
