A surprising goaltender has now entered the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program amidst drama.

Today it was just announced that Detroit Red Wings goaltender Jack Campbell has entered the NHL/NHLPA Players Assistance Program. Campbell has been involved in a lot of drama over the past couple of years after signing a five-year deal with the Edmonton Oilers, and only playing in two out of the five, and then getting bought out this year.

Campbell looked to bounce back his career after spending most of the year last year in the AHL. He signed a one-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings, but just announced that he will be entering the NHLPA Players Assistance Program.

In 11 years Campbell has played 176 games, and has a record of 93-52-18, with a 2.76 GAA, and a .909 SV%.

Even though Jack Campbell couldn't live up to the contract that he signed with the Edmonton Oilers, you have to feel bad for the guy. Entering the program means something must be really bothering him or he is going through something, and you just have to feel bad for him.

We hope that everything is okay with Jack Campbell, and that he returns to the NHL sooner rather then later, whenever he is ready.
