The Boston Bruins are still hopeful that restricted free agent Jeremy Swayman will sign a contract sooner rather then later, but ever since Cam Neely took contract negotiations public stating the Bruins have a $64 million offer on the table, which was denied by his agent through social media, trade rumours have been surfacing everywhere.
Frank Seravalli reported that the Boston Bruins real offer was less then what Cam Neely stated, apparently the deal was closer to $62.4 million, which would equal out to be $7.8 million over eight years.
Many believe the teams that would be interested to trade for Jeremy Swayman are, the Vegas Golden Knights, Colorado Avalanche, Utah Hockey Club, Chicago Blackhawks, and the New Jersey Devils.
Fluto Shinzawa, a writer for the Athletic stating that with trade rumours surfacing, he believes the Boston Bruins will have a high asking price to acquire Jeremy Swayman, and the other club would have to have the cap to sign him:
None of the new reports that are coming out, are looking good for the Boston Bruins, and Jeremy Swayman, and it seems like the direction this is heading, Jeremy Swayman will likely be in a different jersey sometime this season.
The Boston Bruins have until December 1st to sign Jeremy Swayman to a deal if he wants to be able to play during the 2024-25 season and or the playoffs this year.
