The Colorado Avalanche failed to end the Tampa Bay Lightning season on Friday night at home and hoist the Stanley Cup. Now the Lightning have some much-needed momentum returning home for game six tonight.
It appears the Avalanche could be without one of their best players tonight, as forward Valeri Nichushkin was seen being carted off to get an X-ray after game five at Ball Arena in Denver.
As per Mike Chambers of The Denver Post:
This will be a massive loss for the Avalanche if Nichushkin cannot go for game six. The Russian had a breakout campaign in 2021-22, and he's been a massive part of this run, including 4 goals and 2 assists in five games of the Stanley Cup Final.
