The Hockey Community Is Mourning The Loss Of 16-Year-Old Hockey Player

The hockey community is mourning the loss of a 16-year-old hockey player who was killed in a car crash.

It was announced that 16-year-old Will Neeb, who played for the 16U AAA Connecticut Chiefs has tragically passed away.

William showed a lot of potential at just 16-years-old as he was leading his team in scoring with 25 points in just 22 games played this year.

It was reported that Neeb tragically passed away after being in a collision with an SUV. It was clear that Neeb had a lot of talent and was very passionate for the game of hockey, and everyone around him could clearly see that watching him play.

Coaches Ike Corriveau and Trent Thomas both noted Neebs skills during the CT High School All-Star game:

"Shortly after being recruited for the 16U AAA Full Season team, Will immersed himself in training with Coach Trent, driven by his unwavering love for hockey. Will's relentless work ethic, positive attitude, and leadership by example made him not only a standout athlete but also a beloved teammate. His presence on and off the ice will be deeply missed."

New Milford reported that Neeb "succumbed to his injuries from a motor vehicle accident."

Neeb was an athlete of many sports, and also played lacrosse. The team issued their heartfelt condolences along with a message following his passing:

"He was an outstanding athlete and a favorite with his coaches and teammates. Will showed leadership and selflessness on the field, and always set an excellent example for the players around him. He will be remembered as a kind, polite, coachable, and all around great kid."

During his memorial, Neeb's friends, teammates and family members made a heartbreaking gesture as they sat in silence for 12 minutes to honor Will who wore number 12 on his jersey.
