Just over 11 years ago, in game four of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals between the Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins, goaltender Tim Thomas was not happy with Alex Burrows, and he let him know.
Burrows was that type of player that every opposing team hated, I wouldn't put him up there with Brad Marchand, but he was a good player in his own right too. He had been bothering Thomas all series in front of the net, and the goaltender finally just did the job himself to keep him from coming back.
Check it out:
Thomas gives Burrows a pretty healthy slash in the back of the leg that would not feel good, and the Canucks forward would retaliate with a cross-check. Tempers boiled over a bit in front of the Bruins crease afterward as Thomas just looked on.
