December 3, 1987, was a special night in Bruins history. Legendary Bruins forward Phil Esposito had his number 7 jersey retired.

Long-time Bruins Captain Ray Bourque made it a night Esposito said that he will never forget. In a class act, Bourque, who initially wore number 7 to start his career, greeted Esposito on the ice. After a handshake with Esposito, Bourque pulled his own number 7 jersey off, revealing the number 77 that he wore for the rest of his career.

Esposito was one of the greatest to ever wear the Spoked B. I'm nine seasons with the Bruins, Espo piled up 459 goals and 553 assists for 1012 in 625 games played. Esposito also played a huge role, alongside Bobby Orr, in winning two Stanley Cups with Boston.

Here is a full look at Esposito's career and accomplishments.
