As we reported yesterday, a lot was on the line for Boston ahead of last night's game against Arizona.

With the win, the Bruins were able to establish a new record for the 98-year-old franchise.

Coming into yesterday's matchup, the B's had won 17 straight games against the Coyotes, a win streak they kicked off back in 2010.

That had them tied for the second longest win streak against one opponent in NHL history; the current record holders being the Montreal Canadiens, who won 23 straight games against the Washington Capitals between 1974-1978.

With yesterday's 3-2 win, the B's pushed their win streak against the Yotes to 18 games, taking over sole possession of second place on the NHL's all-time list.

As you can see in the above graphic, the Bruins managed to shatter their own previous mark with last night's W. That being said, Boston now owns two of the top three such sequences in NHL history.

Boston and Arizona do not have another game scheduled versus each other this season.
