With training camp officially beginning today, one significant storyline that fans should watch is the progress of negotiations between the Boston Bruins and pending free agent David Pastrnak.

It's been one of the main talking points among fans and media all summer long as Pastrnak will be an unrestricted free agent once the 2022-23 season expires, but the Bruins would want a deal done well before that.

Pasta recently gave B's fans positive reassurance as he stated:

''Yeah, of course...I came here as a kid, and now I'm a man. I'm extremely happy. A lot of great memories. I've said many times I love it here. It's an honor to wear this jersey.''

''We love it here. This is our home. This is where I became a man. Spent unbelieve years here with Rebecca, and we are really happy here. But my focus, moving forward, is to be ready for Game 1.''

This morning, general manager Don Sweeney discussed what the ongoing negotiations look like from the other side.

''I don't think there's a concern. David would be the only one that can ideally speak to that.''

''In a perfect world, as we referenced, to try and be aggressive. To have him sign long-term and be a lifelong Bruin has always been our goal. David shed a little light in terms of where he was at personally, and we respected that.''
