It was another instant classic between rivals Canada and USA, as the two teams battled right down to the final second in a tight Gold Medal game at the 2022 Woman's World Hockey Championships.

The game was a very tight checking through the first period, with only six total shots between the two teams. Canada's Brianna Jenner got her team on the board with two second-period goals, while Abby Roque of the US scored her fourth powerplay goal of the tournament with under a minute to go in the period.

USA came out strong in the third, outshooting Canada 12-6, looking for a repeat of the five unanswered goals they scored in the 5-2 win in the two team's round robin matchup earlier in the tournament. Canadian goaltender Ann-Renee Desbiens was huge in the third, especially in the dying minutes with the US net empty.

Canada went three for three this summer, winning the World Under-18 Hockey Championships, the 2022 Beijing Olympics, and now the Women's World Hockey Championships.
