Late Sunday, the Boston Bruins announced they would be parting ways with recently signed defenseman Mitchell Miller, effective immediately.
Veterans players such as Patrice Bergeron, Nick Foligno and Brad Marchand spoke out that they weren't particularly fond of the controversial signing. Monday afternoon, shared a message for Bruins fans, and now Marchand has followed his captain's lead.
Marchand's reaction, as per CBS Boston:
''We appreciate and love the fan support, and the reason everyone is so upset is they're so passionate about the group.''
''With the beliefs and the way that we handle the room, the type of people we want to have here, that bleeds throughout the organization and through the fans as well. That's why they are upset; because everyone expects to have good people in this room.''
He continued:
''No one is perfect, and we all make mistakes. This was one of those mistakes ... Hopefully, we can all move on now and get back to worrying about this season.''
It's clear, with both Bergeron and Marchand's reactions are that the team has a certain culture that those two specifically, among others, are crucial to. Watch the winger media coverage below:
