The Boston Bruins have finally scored a powerplay goal!

The Bruins' powerplay came into the game Thursday night against the Buffalo Sabres in a 0 for 36 drought. The team finally broke the slump 2:11 into the third period on David Pastrnak's 40th goal of the season.

Taylor Hall would score another powerplay goal just over two minutes later, and the Bruins' finished the night 2 for 6 with the man advantage.

Bruce Cassidy commented on the powerplay drought finally ending:

"It's been a long time ... I thought maybe it's not meant to be ... In the past, we've been able to get to the front of the net, get some chances; Hallsy was there, and we got rewarded ... We don't need to be talking about it forever, so it's good to get them out of the way."

Cassidy also discussed the many positives from the night, such as Patrice Bergeron's hat-trick and 400th career goal, Linus Ullmark's first shutout as a Bruin and, of course, trainer Don DelNegro's last home game before retirement.

"To be a part of it, some of these things that happen now, you always look back later ... The guys are ecstatic for Bergy, obviously, Donny Del, great Bruin for 29 years. It's a pretty happy room in there; there's even Frank Sinatra playing if you can believe that. "
