The Boston Bruins season ended on May 14th, after a tough 3-2 loss in game seven to the Carolina Hurricanes. It appears as though that forward David Pastrnak had some unfinished business this year and decided to go represent his country.
The 2022 IIHF World Championships are being held in Tampere and Helsinki, Finland, from May 13th to 29th. Pastrnak agreed to join Team Czechia a few days ago and played his first game with his country this afternoon. In a 5-1 win over Latvia, Pasta had one goal and one assist. The most exciting part for Bruins fans was that he was reunited with former teammate David Krejci.
Krejci, also a native of the Czech Republic, decided to move back home for the 2021-22 season and play for his hometown team HC Olomouc of the Czech Extraliga (ELH). The two played on the top line for the Czechs along with Roman Cervenka, and both put up two points (two assists for Krejci).
Pastrnak was interviewed after the game about what it was like to be reunited with Krejci. Watch it here:
