Last week it was reported that Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness had tested positive for COVID-19.

In his first season as head coach, Bowness was forced to miss his team's first four games to recover from the illness. He made his debut on Saturday when the Jets hosted the Toronto Maple Leafs, but after morning skate today, Bowness was forced to leave his media coverage to seek immediate medical attention.

Bowness has reportedly been suffering from post-COVID dizziness in the wake of his diagnosis of COVID. As per Mike McIntyre of Winnipeg News:

''#NHLJets coach Rick Bowness just had to cut morning skate media availability short as he's apparently been suffering from dizzy spells this morning. Getting checked out by medical staff. Status for game tonight not clear. 67-year-old coming off COVID. Wishing him the best. #wfp''

McIntyre continued:

''Lots of concern here at Canada Life Centre for #NHLJets coach Rick Bowness. He apparently insisted on doing the media availability despite earlier dizzy spells, but clearly was in some distress at the podium (as some may have seen by the live broadcast on team social media).''

The Jets also announced that Bowness will not be behind the bench tonight, as they host the St. Louis Blues. Hopefully, the former Boston Bruins coach is back to %100 soon!
