Carey Price has been away from the NHL and the Montreal Canadiens as he continues to rehab various injuries (hip and knee), which he injured during the 2021 playoff run to the Stanley Cup Final.

Due to this, many insiders in the hockey world, and fans, have been discussing the potential that Price's incredible career may be over. However, according to Eric Engels of Sportsnet, Price spoke to the media recently with optimism to continue his career:

Carey Price says he has no plan to retire at this moment. Just taking things step by step. ''Right now, my goal is to be pain-free day to day.''

Engels continued:

''Price says he's spoken to people with a similar injury and that it could take a full year to heal, so he's holding out hope. However, reluctant to have a surgery that would risk his quality of life.''

The longtime Canadiens goaltender was only able to appear in five games last season and has already been all but ruled out for the entire 2022-23 season. Although Price has never confirmed or denied retirement, don't be surprised if he does call it quits, either.
