The Boston Bruins are hoping that Jeremy Swayman can follow in the footsteps of Tuukka Rask and Tim Thomas and be the franchise's next superstar backstop.

Drafted 111th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Swayman has split time over the last two seasons between the Bruins and their AHL affiliate in Providence but with Rask now officially retired, Swayman is now officially the Bruins' next big hope -- and for good reason.

Swayman, 23, is 31 appearances into his NHL career and has won 17 times and posted a measly 1.93 goals against average and a save percentage of 0.930. To put that into context, legends Dominik Hasek and Ken Dryden share the NHL's all-time best career save percentage at 0.922. Rask and Thomas ended their careers just behind them at 0.921 and 0.920, respectively.

Just who is this new kid on the block who spent his formative years growing up between Brooklyn and Alaska? NHL.com's Dan Rosen caught up with Swayman for his latest "Sitting Down With..." Q&A segment:

Jeremy Swayman's got big pads to fill following Tuukka Rask into the Bruins' crease. What's your impression of him to this point in his career? Is he "the guy"?
