The Vegas Golden Knights have achieved a remarkable feat, reaching their second Stanley Cup Finals in just six seasons as an expansion team. However, coaches can sometimes make regrettable mistakes by criticizing their own team and mocking others.

Bruce Cassidy, unfortunately, is not exempt from such behavior. During his commentary on Game 5 between the Golden Knights and the Dallas Stars, Cassidy made a comparison to the Arizona Coyotes, implying they were an inferior team incapable of winning with 24 giveaways.

«We had 24 giveaways," Cassidy said after Game 5. "I'm not sure you're beating the Arizona Coyotes in January with 24 giveaways. That's no disrespect to Arizona, but it's not the right way to play.»

After facing backlash, Cassidy expressed regret and issued an apology. He acknowledged the remark as disrespectful and admitted it was inappropriate to bring another team into the conversation.

But now, Cassidy regrets the remark and apologized.

"It was disrespectful," he said. "It was a dumb thing to say about puck management, to bring another team in."

It is worth noting that despite Cassidy's comments, the Golden Knights did suffer a 4-1 loss to the Coyotes at Mullett Arena this year, but with only two giveaways.
