Capitals Star Russian Demands A trade for the second time
The Washington Capitals, following a disappointing season without a playoff appearance, are actively seeking significant changes.
Forward Evgeny Kuznetsov, who has previously expressed his desire for a trade, has submitted his trade request again.
In an article by Mike Vogel on NHL.com, it is emphasized that the Capitals are aware of Kuznetsov's request and their approach to the off-season. Kuznetsov's offensive performance last season fell below expectations, with 12 goals and 55 points in 81 games, not justifying his $7.8 million cap hit.
However, with two years remaining on his contract, a strong offensive resurgence could attract valuable trade offers early in the upcoming season.
The Capitals attempted to make trades involving Kuznetsov during the draft, but were unsuccessful.
