The Pittsburgh Penguins are off to a way worse start to the year then they wanted to be, having a record of 6-9-2 in 17 games so far this season.
Their last game on Monday against the Dallas Stars made things look way worse for the Penguins after they allowed six goals in the first period, and ended up losing 7-1.
There have been multiple reports that have stated the Pittsburgh Penguins are set to make some player-for-player trades, and that everyone is available for trade except the captain Sidney Crosby.
One player that will generate a lot of trade interest is former Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk.
Grzelcyk signed a one-year, $2.75 million deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the off-season, and has had a good amount of success with a struggling Penguins team so far.
Matt Grzelcyk will be a solid cheap option for a lot of teams that are looking for defensive depth and or someone who can play top-four minutes.
He also will bring a lot of experience as during his eight years with the Boston Bruins, he saw a lot of playoff hockey, not only this, but so far in 17 games with the Penguins, Grzelcyk has 7 points, all of them being assists, which isn't terrible considering the Penguins have not produced much offence.
It will be interesting to see what happens with the former Boston Bruin, and who knows, maybe there is a possibility that the Bruins end up bringing Grzelcyk back.
