A New Development Surfaced In Bruins Brad Marchand Being Traded And It's Not A Good Look
Brad Marchand could be headed to the Western Conference if the latest trade rumors could turn out to be true.
According to NHL Insider Jimmy Murphy, the Bruins could have a serious suitor for Brad Marchand in the West.
The team that would be interested in the former Stanley Cup winner would be the Vegas Golden Knights.
Of course, the interesting part of all of this is, that Marchand would be reuniting with former coach Bruce Cassidy.
After winning one Stanley Cup in Vegas, it appears the front office isn't happy and if they were to pursue Marchand it'd be to make a deep run into June.
Marchand offers plenty of playoff experience to a team who is bringing in younger talent, after dismembering their old roster of Stanley Cup winners, and misfits.
Some of those players have found new spots in New York, and Nashville.
Of course, this would be terrible for Bruins fans who don't want to see Marchand wear another uniform.
He's won a cup wearing the spoked-B and has earned the captaincy after Patrice Bergergon's exit in 2023.
Marchand's exit would kickstart the retool in Boston right away, as he could fetch an NHL for the Bruins, and a 1st-round pick.
All the while, it'll be heartbreaking to see him in Golden Knights colors, there's always a chance for him to re-sign with Boston in the offseason should things not work out in Vegas.
This season for the Bruins he's played 57 games, scored 44 points (20 G, 24 A), and was selected 71st overall in the 3rd round by the Bruins in 2006.
He's worked his way up from the bottom-six into an elite winger in the NHL.
Could the Bruins send him to Vegas? We'll see in March.
