The Bruins just have one remaining free agent left, who could walk soon, as it's unlikely Don Sweeney will re-sign him.
\James Van Riemsdyk is a free agent, he may not have been a part of the Presidents Trophy-winning roster, but he was a Bruin this season.
Fortunately, Depth forwards are easily replaced, but the worst part is you have to spend more just to acquire another.
At 35 years old, JVR did produce in Boston, albeit not to his performances in the 2010s.
In 71 games with the Bruins, he posted 38 points( 11 G, 27 A) which he had not posted since 2021-2022 with the Philadelphia Flyers.
JVR still has the ability to score and be a difference-maker in the next organization he plays for.
However, if its a question of money, the Bruins signed him to a one-year, $1 Million dollar deal, which you could argue as a bottom-six forward, they got their money's worth.
As it stands now, the former Bruins forward remains the top-remaining UFA in free agency, if that gives you an idea of what options are left.
JVR can play up and down the lineup, and is a physical forward, despite not being the best defensive option.
