Speculation is high regarding the future of veteran Boston Bruins center, David Krejci, as two sources close to the situation suggest that retirement may be on the horizon for the 37-year-old.

While nothing is set in stone, insiders reveal that Krejci is leaning toward stepping away from the game.

This news follows an NHL source's assertion on Wednesday night that Krejci would indeed be retiring. It is worth noting that last offseason proved unpredictable, with Krejci and team captain Patrice Bergeron navigating uncertainties as unrestricted free agents.

Ultimately, both players signed one-year contracts shortly after NHL free agency commenced. With the NHL Draft on the horizon and free agency returning to its traditional July 1 start, it is expected that a decision from Krejci will emerge in the coming week.

Having spent his entire career with the Bruins, Krejci recently admitted that if he were to continue playing, it would exclusively be for his beloved team. Although signs point to a potential retirement, the fluid nature of the situation means surprises are not out of the question.

Krejci's remarkable performance last season, despite battling injuries, showcased his enduring skills, tallying 16 goals and 40 assists in the regular season, along with a goal and three assists in the playoffs.
