Former Bruins forward Oskar Steen was unable to secure a roster spot with the Boston Bruins to which he was signed by Farjestad of the SHL.

During the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, he was selected in the sixth round and has spent the bulk of his time with the Providence Bruins. It seems no matter what he did he always would underproduce while being on the Bruins but a productive member with Providence.

His most productive season happened with Providence in 2021-22 when he played 49 games and had 15 goals and 20 assists for 35 points.

After announcing he went to free agency, SHL picked him up quickly and signed him to a five-year contract which will put him available for free agency by the time he is 31 years old.

The Bruins continue to jostle and move around their roster as general manager Don Sweeney continues to tinker and add players as he still holds $8.6 million in cap space.
