Boston Bruins fans have multiple reasons to be angry at the moment, as the team is not the best iteration we've seen in recent years.

In 2022-2023, the team won a President's Trophy and was a fledgling contender with multiple star players in the lineup. It was gritty, and fun hockey with two goalies who had a personality.

Fast forward to 2024, the team is 3-3-1 and was recently shut out by the Nashville Predators and Juuse Saros.

Now, fans are coming at the Bruins from all angles, and it's honestly deserved as the team is underperforming.

One of Don Sweeney's additions during the offseason was Max Jones, who played the majority of his career with the Anaheim Ducks before signing with the Bruins this year.

Jones was lauded for his gritty style of play but hasn't exactly been the kind of player fans love, compared to others like Mark Kastelic, John Beecher, and Cole Koepke.

Now, Jim Montgomery has tried to experiment with the grinder by adding him to the 2nd line. Because why not?

Jones has only played 4:15 TOI in the last 7 games, with only 3 shots on goal, 8 PIMs, and a -1 to add to his reputation or lack thereof.

Fans are angry and want him gone, and would like someone else like Georgii Merklulov in the lineup. Honestly, isn't a bad demand considering the kind of scoring clip he registered in the AHL last season.

Merkulov would be a legitimate top-six scoring option for the team, and for some reason, the Bruins sent him, and Fabian Lysell down to the AHL.

Needless to say, the Causeway Crowd echoes our sentiment sans Lysell:

Yes, it's only been three games for Max Jones with the Bruins after signing a free-agent contract this summer to come over from the Anaheim Ducks, but it's been a rough three games, to say the least. Against Nashville, he took a penalty late in the first period that led to the game's first goal.

Should the Boston Bruins waive Max Jones and call-up Fabian Lysell or Georgii Merkulov?
