Boston Bruins Given Chance To Acquire Four Players For Free Following Announcement
The Boston Bruins have been given the chance to acquire four players for free after they were placed on waivers today.
Lately, NHL teams have been using the waivers a lot, and that included Wednesday as well. In the past two days there have been six players placed on the waiver wire in the NHL.
The NHL roster freeze is set to take place on Friday for the holidays, and teams have been making roster moves, and on Wednesday we saw even more take place in the NHL.
Chris Wagner and Justin Dowling, who were placed on waivers Tuesday, both cleared waivers according to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman. And now Friedman is reporting four more players found themselves on the waiver wire Wednesday.
Tye Felhaber recently just made his debut with the Colorado Avalanche, even though he has been really good in the American Hockey League, he just doesn't seem to have what it takes to make it in the NHL, and will more than likely clear waivers.
Marc Del Gaizo of the Nashville Predators has played in 20 games this season with the team, and has three assists. Proving to the organization that he could be a solid NHL player but still needs to develop a bit in the American Hockey League.
Grant Hutton of the New York Islanders has only appeared in 30 NHL games over six years with the Islanders organization, and only has 1 goal, 3 points in that time. At age 29, there aren't many more opportunities coming for Hutton.
Dylan Coghlan was the last player placed on waivers today for the Winnipeg Jets. Coghlan has appeared in over 100 career NHL games with the Vegas Golden Knights and Carolina Hurricanes, but he has played just one game with the Jets as they have a solid blue line, and it was clear he wouldn't get much of a chance this season.
The Boston Bruins now have a chance to make another move and acquire a player for free if they wanted to like they did with Oliver Wahlstrom.
