Boston Bruins insider hints at the Bruins trading defenseman Mason Lohrei
A Boston Bruins insider has hinted at the possibility of the Boston Bruins trading defensemen Mason Lohrei.
Mason Lohrei was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 2020 Entry Draft during the second round with the #58 pick. In the three years with the Bruins organization Lohrei has developed a lot and even spent 41 games with the Boston Bruins this year.
He split some time between the AHL and NHL this year but played the majority of it with the Boston Bruins and was a big part of the Bruins success this year during the playoffs.
Jimmy Murphy from Boston Hockey Now reported that the Boston Bruins could entertain the idea of trading Mason Lohrei.
Murphy stated that the only way the Boston Bruins may trade him is if it's for someone that has an elite status like Leon Draisaitl. Other than that they seem more than happy to keep him in the organization.
I saw some crazy trade rumors involving #NHLBruins defenseman Mason Lohrei, so I asked an NHL exec about them.
"The only way I see them moving Lohrei is if it's for an elite center like Leon Draisaitl. They love that kid, and I don't blame them. He's the real deal."
Lohrei has shown a lot of promise with the Boston Bruins although he isn't the best defensively, his offensive game makes up for it. In 41 games with the Boston Bruins he put up 4 goals and 13 points.
Lohrei definitely has a bright future with the Bruins if they decide to keep him.
