It was announced yesterday that the Boston Bruins organization has shuffled their coaching staff which includes a return of Jay Leach after serving with the Seattle Kraken.

General manager Don Sweeney made the announcement as leach is now an assistant coach with the team. He mentions the fact that he has returned to the organization as he spent several years with Providence to help develop their players and grow their game.

«The Boston Bruins are excited to welcome Jay Leach back to the organization,» said Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney. «Jay was a very successful coach with the Providence Bruins where he greatly impacted our player development system, and he also brings valuable experience as an assistant coach from the Seattle Kraken. We believe Jay will integrate quickly and complement our current staff as he comes back to the Bruins to work with our defense corps.»

Leach played seven years in the NHL where his career started with the Boston Bruins and finished with the New Jersey Devils. His career spanned from 2005 through 2011.

They also promoted former NHLer Joe Sacco to associate coach and John McClean will be shifted to player development staff as the skating and skills coach.

These changes are amongst many to come for the Bruins as the team prepares for the draft and looking ahead to the summer as several players will be evaluated for an extension or let go to unrestricted free agency.

The big order of business is to lock down Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman to a new contract as he showed the Bruins that he is ready to become their number one goaltender.
