He's heading home: Boston Bruins Pat Maroon signals departure from Bruins
It appears that Bruins forward and playoff veteran pat maroon maybe leaving the Bruins organization after tweeting out a specific post.
The post certainly has some deep meaning has the St Louis Blues beat the Bruins back in 2019 take home the Stanley Cup which Maroon was a part of.
The 36-year-old left winger has had a great career in the NHL where he has played for seven NHL organisations including the Edmonton Oilers, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Saint Louis Blues. He also holds 3 Stanley Cup rings in three consecutive seasons with the Blues in 2019 and the lightning in 2020 and 2021.
But as every season ends, it seems that maroon may be heading back to unrestricted free agency as he has completed his two year $2,000,000 deal that was signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Maroon gave the Bruins exactly what they were looking for in terms of player playoff experience, some snarl in his game and not afraid to hit anyone.
It's unlikely the Bruins will re sign him as the team looks towards other players to lock into a new deal especially their rookies.
Unrestricted free agency will begin on July 1st and it's likely some teams will be calling his agent.
