It was just announced that the Boston Bruins have recalled 8-players ahead of their game tonight.
It looks like some players are going to get another opportunity to prove to the Boston Bruins that they deserve a spot for the opening night roster, and there are a couple surprises.
Jackson Edwards is getting another chance, after missing the beginning of training camp with an injury he suffered during the prospect challenge in Buffalo. The 7th round draft pick in 2022 plays a gritty style of play that perfectly fits the Boston Bruins system.
Georgii Merkulov is getting another chance today, he had a lot of hype around him heading into camp, and a lot of people thought he would be pushing for the 2nd line right wing spot that is vacant due to Jake DeBrusk leaving the Boston Bruins in free agency, but he's had a very underwhelming preseason, and many believe that he will be starting the year off in Providence, but should get some NHL looks this year.
The full list of the 8 players recalled today by the Boston Bruins:
Today will be the Boston Bruins last game until October 8th when the regular season begins, and the Boston Bruins take on the Stanley Cup Champions, the Florida Panthers.
Tough news for the Boston Bruins is they will more than likely be without their starting goaltender as the Bruins and Jeremy Swayman don't seem to be getting any closer to getting a deal done.
