Brad Marchand pays respects to Bergeron in a heartfelt statement
In a heartfelt statement, Brad Marchand paid tribute to Patrice Bergeron upon his retirement.
Marchand credited Bergeron with being instrumental in his growth as both a player and a person.
What began as a teammate dynamic blossomed into an extraordinary friendship, forming an unbreakable bond. The shared journey led to something truly remarkable, a feat few experience in their careers.
"I can say from the bottom of my heart, I would not be the player or person I am today if I hadn't had the opportunity to meet [him] and play with Thim].
What started as just teammates and linemates turned into an incredible friendship and a lifelong bond.
The journey that we took together... we got to do something very special that very few people get to do in their careers. I'm so grateful for the opportunity."
Filled with gratitude, Marchand expressed how privileged he feels for the opportunity to have played alongside Bergeron and be a part of something so extraordinary.
