Nobody has risen in the Bruins' prospect ranks more than goaltender Brandon Bussi, and he proved why with Providence on the brink of elimination last night.

Saving the Season

Providence entered the AHL playoffs with a first-round bye for being Atlantic Division Champions. However, the ''Jr. Bs'' saw themselves down 2-0 in a best-of-five against the underdog Hartford Wolf Pack coming into Wednesday's game three.

With his team up 4-3 late in the third, Bussi made not only the save of the playoffs but possibly the best all season long. With it, the goaltender may have - literally - saved their season.

Check it out:

Providence would add a couple of empty net goals to take game three by a 6-3 and stay alive in the series. Game four is scheduled for Friday night in Hartford.

After starting the season with the Maine Mariners of the ECHL, the 24-year-old played his way to the AHL starter. In 32 games for Providence, Bussi collected a 22-5-4 record, with a 2.40 GAA, a .924 SV% and one shutout.

Will Bussi make it a little easier for Boston to part ways with either Linus Ullmark or Jeremy Swayman?

Bussi also discussed his big save with the media postgame:
