In a recent press conference, New York Islanders' General Manager Lou Lamoriello left the door open for more "hockey trades," according to a report by Kevin Kurz of The Athletic.

Lamoriello's pursuit of Alex DeBrincat showcased his intentions, although the forward ultimately found himself traded to the Detroit Red Wings. Now, with the Islanders still in search of additional scoring, speculation suggests that alternative options are being explored.

Rumors circulated that in an effort to create salary cap space for DeBrincat, the Islanders offered center Jean-Gabriel Pageau to the Ottawa Senators.

Interestingly, an Islanders beat reporter has indicated that Lamoriello might consider involving Pageau in a different trade, potentially with the Boston Bruins, where Jake DeBrusk's name enters the conversation.

Andrew Fantucchio of NYIHockeyNow points out the Bruins' pressing need for centers, especially considering the potential retirement of veteran Patrice Bergeron.

Given Pageau's remarkable penalty-killing prowess and faceoff skills, he could emerge as an appealing option for Bruins' GM Don Sweeney.

The Islanders' quest for scoring solutions and the potential trade scenarios surrounding Pageau and DeBrusk add a captivating twist to their offseason plans.
