With Patrice Bergergon's future hanging in the balance more dominions could fall after him if he decided to retire.
Per WEEI host Adam Jones, the Bruins should trade Brad Marchand if Bergeron calls it a career in order to land a major haul in return. «Shocking proposal would see Bruins trade Brad Marchand» hockeyfeed.com (6/11/23)
Brad Marchand was a rookie on the 2010-11 Stanley Cup roster, and has grown into one of Boston's best players and is known as one of the biggest pests in the NHL today. He is definitely a player you hate to play against but would love to have on your team. With that said, what could a possible return look like for the 35-year-old?
Brad Marchand's salary is $5,000,000 and his cap hit is $6,125,000 for the 2023-24 season. His salary is comprised of $2,000,000 in signing bonuses and $3,000,000 in base salary. The Bruins may have to retain some of his salary in a deal but the market would be very competitive for the star winger.
