The Boston Bruins faced some tough decisions as they trimmed their roster down ahead of the upcoming season.

Coach Jim Montgomery acknowledged the challenges of this process, saying,

"Today's a hard day, right? It just is."
Several players were placed on waivers for AHL assignment, including Jakub Zboril, Jesper Boqvist, and Oskar Steen.

Zboril, a former first-round pick, was sidelined by injury during the preseason and was surpassed by Ian Mitchell in the defensive lineup.

Steen, a longshot for the camp, is expected to be called upon when injuries occur in the bottom-six right wing position. Boqvist, acquired from the New Jersey Devils, struggled to showcase his skills during camp.

The transactions leave the Bruins with 25 players in camp, needing to reach the 23-player maximum by Monday.

Some players, like Matt Poitras and Mitchell, appear to be safe, while others, like Danton Heinen and Morgan Geekie, are still being evaluated for their roles.

Overall, the Bruins face some tough decisions as they finalize their roster for the upcoming season, with several players competing for limited spots on the team.
