Bruins insider hints Georgii Merkulov's time in the organization may be ending
A recent report from a Boston Bruins insider hints that Georgii Merkulov's time with the organization may be coming to an end.
Bruins Network reported that Merkulov has nothing left to prove in the AHL with the Providence Bruins and may not have a spot for him on the actual roster with the Boston Bruins, meaning the Bruins may look to move on from him.
Merkulov has nothing left to prove in the AHL, but questions are where does he fit in Boston? Is he a top-nine center in the NHL? Is his off-puck game robust enough for the NHL? If Boston adds another forwardor twois there room for him to break in? Lot of variables. #NHLBruins
Merkulov doesn't seem ready to be with the Boston Bruins as he was called up from Providence this year in 4 games and didn't look good enough to play with them and fans called him out for this.
he certainly did not look ready his first call-up, but that doesn't mean much. Still has plenty of time to gain that confidence to play with the big boys.
He performed very well in the AHL with the Providence Bruins putting up 30 goals, 35 assists, 65 points in 67 games with the Providence Bruins.
If Merkulov can't make the step to make the Bruins roster next year his time might be up with the organization.
