Bruins Management Takes a Shot at Charlie Coyle
The Boston Bruins are shaking things up as they face the San Jose Sharks. In a bold move, they've shifted Charlie Coyle to the third line center position and promoted rookie Matthew Poitras to the second line. Coach Jim Montgomery hopes this change will boost their offensive output.
Coyle, known for his adaptability, is taking the change in stride, reuniting with Trent Frederic and James van Riemsdyk. Coyle's stats this season have been a mixed bag, with a dip in faceoff performance in the second game.
Last season, Coyle was instrumental in the Bruins' success, recording 16 goals and 29 assists. Montgomery suggests that if the Bruins pick up the pace and create more scoring opportunities, the current lineup may stick. The team's focus remains on winning.
