Jim Montgomery made roster changes ahead of their game against the Los Angeles Kings, which ended up paying off for the Bruins in the end.
Due to scoring the OT winner, David Pastrnak is going to get most of the credit, but the changes that Montgomery made heading into the game was the difference maker in the Bruins winning or losing that game.
Montgomery decided moments before the game that Matthew Poitras was going to slot back into the lineup after being injured, and Mason Lohrei slotted back into the lineup after being healthy scratched for their home opener on Thursday against the Montreal Canadiens.
Both Matthew Poitras, and Mason Lohrei factored in on the overtime winner from David Pastrnak. Both young inexperienced players played a big part in winning the game.

After the game David Pastrnak was asked about what he thought when he realized he was on the ice with both the rookies, and he made a rather funny comment regarding the situation.
Putting Pastrnak with Lohrei and Poitras ended up paying off in the end.
