A defenseman from last nights Bruins-Utah game is set to face a suspension after breaking an NHL rule during the game.

Utah Hockey Club's defenseman Robert Bortuzzo is possibly facing a suspension after violating a rule during the game last night.

The rule Bortuzzo broke was the fact that he jumped off the bench and immediately dropped the gloves which is rule 70.2.

This rule is in place so that players cannot just jump off the bench and start a fight to end a play when things aren't going their way.

Rule 70.2: A player who has entered the game while play is in progress from his own players' bench who starts an altercation may be subject to discipline
Bortuzzo violated the rule last night by immediately dropping the gloves and grabbing Bruins centre Mark Kastelic as he was skating by the benches at the end of his shift.

A player was suspended during preseason for breaking this rule in Tampa Bay Lightning's forward Connor Geekie who ended up getting a one-game suspension.

Mark Kastelic was towards the end of his shift and Bortuzzo was fresh off the bench, causing a stir by Bruins fans.

The two seemed to talk about the fight in the penalty box, as they would later on end up dropping the gloves once again.

During the second period both Kastelic and Bortuzzo ended up dropping the gloves once again.

Robert Botuzzo has played in 566 NHL games in his career, and is not know for his scoring abilities.

He has 20 goals and 74 points, but has 517 penalty minutes. Adding the two fights he had with Kastelic, he now has 57 career fights.

We will be sure to update you whether or not a suspension is placed for Bortuzzo.
