Former Boston Bruins fan favourite Tyler Bertuzzi may be punished by the NHL Player Safety after being ejected from previous game.

Ex-Boston Bruins fan favourite Tyler Bertzzui may be facing a suspension from the NHL after being ejected from the Blackhawks previous game against the Dallas Stars on Sunday.

The original hit on former Blackhawk Colin Blackwell was not the problem, but the follow through from Tyler Bertuzzi elbowing him was where the problem came in.

This play took place halfway through the second period of the game at United Center. Blackwell was skating with the puck along the boards when Bertuzzi hit the Stars forward with his back turned to him.

Bertuzzi's follow through hit Blackwell in the head, and immediately resulted in the former Boston Bruin being given a 5 minute major penalty and was ejected from the game. Blackwell would also leave the game after the high hit.

The Dallas Stars took advantage of this five minute power play scoring a goal just 12 seconds into it from Jason Robertson who gave the Stars a 2-1 lead.

Jason Robertson against the Blackhawks:

- 1 goal (on the powerplay)
- 2 points
- 5 shots
- 10 shot attempts
- 2 hits

With Bertuzzi being ejected from the game it results in an automatic review from the NHL and NHL Player Safety, and if they want to take disciplinary actions it will be announced later on today.
