The Ritchie brothers are now both active in European leagues, with Nick recently signing a one-year deal with Karpat in Finland's Liiga, as reported by Chris Johnston of The Athletic.
A former 10th overall pick in the 2014 draft, Nick Ritchie showcased his skills in 74 games last season, splitting his time between the Arizona Coyotes and the Calgary Flames.
His impressive stats included 13 goals, 26 points, and a notable 218 hits. Despite a promising tryout with the St Louis Blues, where he even dropped the gloves, Ritchie's NHL aspirations were hindered by concerns about his foot speed.
Originally drafted by the Anaheim Ducks, Ritchie spent parts of five seasons with the team before making appearances for the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, and, as mentioned earlier, the Arizona Coyotes and Calgary Flames.
With 481 career NHL games under his belt, including 84 goals and 186 points, the 6-foot-3, 27-year-old winger aims to catch the attention of NHL scouts once again through a strong showing overseas.
Ritchie, who has earned just under $12 million in his career thus far, hopes to re-enter the National League next summer after leaving his mark in European hockey.
